Chrysalis selected to Manage Minot International Airport (MOT)

3.31.16

Minot, North Dakota – Chrysalis Global Consulting, LLC was selected to offer Minot International Airport (MOT) with airport management services. Ann Thorvik of Chrysalis Global Consulting will head the initiative and become Interim Airport Director as the City of Minot seeks a permanent Airport Director.

As seen on Minot Daily News:

Minot International Airport has started a customer service initiative to educate people about the new terminal and help them feel comfortable there.

Ann Thorvik, acting airport director, told the Minot City Council’s Airport Committee Tuesday that airport staff are getting out of their offices to spend more time walking around the terminal and being seen. Blue-shirted volunteers from companies in the community are donating two hours a day to direct visitors around the new terminal and gather feedback. Comment cards also have been placed around the terminal for visitors to give feedback.

She added that, starting Friday, the Transportation Security Administration will launch a pre-check program. For a fee, airport users can complete a pre-screening process to expedite airport screenings. Part of the pre-screening process is online and the remainder is through Northern Testing in Minot.

The airport also has adjusted its signage and parking fees to encourage visitors to use the parking lot rather than the curb in front of the terminal for temporary parking. Free parking in the lot has been extended to 30 minutes. The change is necessary to avoid security concerns with vehicles parked near the terminal for extended periods.

The airport committee voted to recommend the council sign a contract with consultant Chrysalis Aviation Solutions for $143,640 to cover Thorvik’s service as interim airport director from March 1 through June 30. Thorvik had come to Minot with Chrysalis last August to assist in the transition to the new terminal. Since the terminal’s opening and the resignation of former director Andrew Solsvig, she has been working long hours at the airport to handle the director’s duties. The city hopes to fill the airport director position by July 1.
