Reno–Tahoe International Airport (RNO)’s transformative investment in its facilities includes substantial upgrades to concourses originally designed and built in a different era. The airport engaged Chrysalis’s aviation team to support facility activation and program management through a coordinated Operational Readiness, Activation, and Transition (ORAT) process for the MoreRNO modernization program. This long-term effort expands and improves next-generation facilities while maintaining safe, reliable day-to-day operations. MoreRNO represents a major investment across multiple workstreams, including roadway improvements, a consolidated rental car facility, and the development of new concourses. Within this complexity, Chrysalis helps keep operational decision-making connected to what matters most: the passenger experience, stakeholder needs, and continuity of airport and airline operations throughout phased delivery. Chrysalis operates seamlessly within the program team to build and manage a practical ORAT roadmap suited to a multi-year, multi-phase environment. This includes establishing early stakeholder alignment, maintaining steady communication as conditions evolve, and ensuring operational requirements remain intact from design through construction and turnover. A key focus of the work is ensuring future facilities can be operated as intended. Chrysalis supports operationally focused reviews and coordination to validate concepts of operation, confirm readiness expectations with stakeholders, and surface potential operational friction points early, when they are easier to address. Because successful openings are never improvised, Chrysalis also helps shape the activation approach so transitions are deliberate rather than reactive. The goal is a well-rehearsed, well-coordinated go-live that supports stable operations from day one while protecting the airport’s ability to serve travelers throughout construction and change. Through this work at RNO, Chrysalis brings a proven, field-tested approach to readiness that is practical, collaborative, and tailored to the realities of airport operations—helping MoreRNO deliver not just new facilities, but a confident transition into the airport’s next era.
